- Apprenticeships lead to increased future earnings
Apprentices enjoy marked salary increases when they complete their training, and those completing a Higher Apprenticeship could see increased earnings of an estimated £150,000 over their lifetime.
The minimum wage for apprentices is £4.81 per hour from April 2022, but many employers pay more than this. In 2021, apprentices reported a median gross hourly pay of £9.98 an hour. This can vary depending on the sector, region and Apprenticeship level e.g. some higher Apprenticeships can pay as much as £300-£500 per week.
- Improve your chances of success
95% of apprentices said their apprenticeship has had a positive impact on their chances for success in their future career, and 91% felt that their apprenticeship had prepared them well for what they wanted to do next.
As a BTC apprentice, you will be working with top employers relevant to the industry you want to be in. As a result, apprentices learn first hand the skills that employers are looking for, setting them up brilliantly for the future.

- Apprenticeships aren’t just for youngsters!
Apprenticeships are a great tool for aiding professional development and career success while continuing to earn, whatever your age. Apprenticeships are perfect for an experienced employee who is keen to obtain a formal qualification in their specialist area, or someone who wants to progress into a different role.
More than half of learners are already employed by their apprenticeship employer before their apprenticeship commenced. The most commonly cited reason for undertaking an apprenticeship was a desire to enter into or progress in a specific career, followed by wanting to develop work-related skills, or to gain a new qualification.
BTC offers Apprenticeships at different levels, so you can progress and complete qualifications from Level 2 (Intermediate) right up to Level 6 (Degree Apprenticeships). These are in a wide range of sectors relating to 1500 job roles in a wide range of industries.
