Want to learn to sing? Want to learn an instrument? Want to improve your music? Then come to lessons at the Music Room!
Part of the Bridgwater & Taunton College Music and Performing Arts section, the Music Room provides singing, music and instrument lessons for people of all ages and abilities.
Our Music Room teachers include conservatoire graduates, which means they are exceptionally well-qualified and experienced in delivering instrumental teaching. Tuition is on a one-to-one basis, although parents of younger learners are welcome to sit in on lessons.
We are happy to advise on a suitable programme, or tailor a programme to meet your needs, and cater for a broad range of musical styles, from classical to jazz and rock.
We provide tuition in a wide variety of instruments for a wide range of musical styles as well as vocal tuition.
You will need to have access to a reliable instrument on which you can practise regularly at home. For beginners, many musical instrument dealers offer very reasonable trial/hire arrangements for the first year of tuition. We are always happy to advise on the best option or instrument for you.
Standard lessons are half an hour and structured to include technique, music reading and repertoire. You have the option to enter for graded music exams; we work with all the major examination boards, but this is not essential.
Please contact the Music Room for further information and costs by email musicroom@btc.ac.uk or telephone 01278 441262.
