CSCS Card for Experienced Construction Workers: If you are an experienced worker but do not have the required NVQ qualification to register for your skilled CSCS card then this service is for you.
Gain your CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme card) through our On-Site Assessment and Training Service, known as OSAT or the EWPA Route (see Fast Track Route below). OSAT is a scheme developed to provide assessment and training in the workplace, for people who have been working in the construction industry for years but do not have the paper qualifications needed for a CSCS card.
The process begins with a ‘skills match’ interview, on-site, to confirm that you or your staff have the required experience. Once accepted onto the scheme, follow-up visits from our staff provide a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and this, together with a successful Health and Safety Test, provides your NVQ qualification. This process typically takes three to six months to complete.
For those in a hurry, a special two day Experienced Worker Route is available involving a visit to the College Assessment Centre, completing an interview and a practical task.
Bridgwater & Taunton College is a registered Prometric Health and Safety test centre. This means not only can we arrange your test but we can also offer preparation sessions to help you pass first time.
Grants are available from Construction Skills (CITB) for member companies and funding may be available for eligible individuals. Please contact our dedicated Business Development Team on 01278 655111 for up-to-date information on funding.
