Team BC kept to winnings ways for the second week running with an emphatic 3 – 1 win over Yeovil College. A game which followed last week’s hard work and determination was matched by the quality of chances created alongside three superbly taken goals.

It took only two minutes for Team BC to get on the score sheet when Cait Berry penetrated down the left side of the Yeovil defence, crossing the ball to the near post for Lucy Brown to poke the ball home – scoring for the second week in a row.

Cait Berry, the eventual player of the match, tormented the Yeovil defence with some dazzling runs but was denied on numerous occasions with last gasped tackles.

When in possession of the ball, Yeovil did look dangerous with a handful of penetrative passes beating the Team BC defence. Although the first half was dominated in Team BC’s goal scoring opportunities, the half was levelled before the break after a defensive mistake.

Team BC reverting to a back three just inside the second half made it extremely difficult for the Yeovil team to get the ball out of their half. Cait Berry continued to cause problems to the Yeovil defence, skipping passed their defenders and creating chances for Lucy Brown and Chloe Vernon.

It was ten minutes into the second half where the game was put to bed with two excellent finishes by that player of the match, Cait Berry. Both goals almost identical to one another, Berry picking the ball up from deep, skipping past a defender and finding the roof of the net from 20 – 25 yards.

The game continued to be dominated by Team BC with the scores at 3 – 1 but failed to convert more goals after a couple of goal line scrambles involving Captain Lucy Stacey and Alex Mccorry.

Final score: Team BC 3 – 1 Yeovil College

Dan Wright, Team BC Female Football Head Coach said,

“I am absolutely delighted with the result but more importantly with the performance the team have displayed. Tactically the team produced everything that was asked of them and more. We talked about how we can individually be positive in our attitude but also how we can do this as a team — which was clearly evident that everyone bought into this and executed it.”
