The 14 – 16 Centre at Bridgwater College were delighted to celebrate the success of their year 11 students in finishing their exams and completing two years as part of an exciting programme at the centre.

Year 11 cohort from Bridgwater College's 14 – 16 Centre

The centre offers a unique GCSE and vocational programme to a small cohort with a nurturing philosophy for students who were previously home educated or who have been referred to us by schools throughout Somerset and North Somerset. The centre also offers a link programme to local schools to give an added value curriculum to pupils who will benefit from an enhancement to their normal curriculum.

The students dressed to impress for their special evening, which was held at the Admirals Landing in Bridgwater. The evening included an awards presentation by Bridgwater College’s Head of Access Science and Humanities, Louise Rowley, food, fun, dancing and a cake cutting by the prom King, Luke Esteves and Queen, Nicole Turner.

Theresa Brown, Associate Lecturer at Bridgwater College said,

“We are very proud of the journey these students have made during their time with us and look forward to them reaching their aspirations in the future. Many of them will continue their studies at Bridgwater College with courses ranging from A Levels to Apprenticeships. They have been a wonderful group; it’s been a joy to watch them grow and progress. It will be sad to see them move on, but we are delighted with each and every one of them, they have been a joy.”
