The recent screening of Julien Temple’s The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson at Bridgwater College’s The McMillan Theatre, raised over £400 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the expansion of local facility The Engine Room.

The special benefit screening saw Julien Temple introduce the film and answer questions from the audience, such as what it was like to spend time with Wilko when he was so ill.

Phil Shepherd, from Somerset Film said,

“Somerset Film were delighted to work with The McMillan Theatre, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Julien. It was a pleasure to present a screening of this fantastic new film to the local community, it was a great night and enjoyed by all.”

The McMillan Theatre will be holding events throughout the year, with upcoming performances from Toyah – Up Close and Personal on Sunday 25 October, The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark on Sunday 8 November, Sunset Boulevard on Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 November, and Aladdin on Thursday 17 – Friday 19 December. The Theatre has on-site free parking, disabled facilities and a bar area.
