Floristry students from Bridgwater College’s Cannington and Yeovil Centre’s recently had a rare opportunity to meet and observe a master class by the German floral designer Gregor Lersch.

Gregor is highly successful in the field of international floristry, he is an author of inspirational books on floral design and travels the world promoting European techniques and styles. His concept of combining all styles, architecture, social components, design trends and personality of the artist in floristic work is fundamental in his approach.

Jacqui Weaver, Course Leader for Floristry at Bridgwater College said,

“It was wonderful to share this great talent with the students. On one of his rare visits to Great Britain, Gregor pioneered the design schema we now teach at both the Cannington and Yeovil Centres. We all gained a great deal from his explanations on what sources if inspiration he uses in his work”.

Floristry student, Holly Ling, added,

“Considering Gregor had just returned from an international tour, completed a string of large stage productions and is so highly thought of within our industry, he was very down to earth and extremely generous with his time throughout the day. It was good to recognise the industry language and terminology we are taught at College, making the demonstration session very relevant to our current studies.”
