A new season has begun for Bridgwater Town FC Development Centre. This exciting partnership between Bridgwater Town FC and Bridgwater College is now into its third season. These sessions run on a Monday Evening from 6pm to 7.30pm at Bridgwater College.

All three age groups U14s, U15s and U16s have been put through their paces in the first few sessions back participating in different fitness tests. The 30 meter sprint, Illinois test, sit and reach test along with a minute of press ups and sit ups to measure speed, agility, flexibility and strength.

The Development Centre training sessions are high quality, creative and imaginative in their nature, and will embrace a multidisciplinary approach to player development.  Alongside the technical and tactical training sessions, players will also have the opportunity to learn about sports psychology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning and performance analysis. They will also have access to a range of state of the art facilities at Bridgwater College including an Astro Turf Pitch, Sports Hall, Health and Fitness Suite and classrooms.

Players in the U16 age group may also have the opportunity to be involved with the Bridgwater Town F.C U18 squad who now compete in the newly formed South West Counties Youth Alliance league who compete against the likes of Forest Green Rovers, Bath City and Weymouth FC to name a few.

As part of the Development Centre, players will also receive a comprehensive gym induction, access to Bridgwater College Health and Fitness suite. Jamie Laird, Head Coach at the Development Centre said,

“To be in the third season of this exciting Development Centre just proves what a good job our coaches are doing and the talent of young players we have in and around the Bridgwater area. With the new structure of the U18s and Bridgwater College football there are even better player pathways than there has ever been before. The Development Centre will help improve each player on the FA four corner model and help progress players onto the Bridgwater Town U18s, Team BC and hopefully the first team.”
