The McMillan Theatre, Bridgwater, is excited to announce it will now be screening National Theatre Live productions in the authentic setting of a 350 seat theatre.

The National Theatre is one of the world’s leading theatre producers who stage up to 30 productions at their South Bank, London venue each year.

After a successful premiere screening of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the second broadcast will be Shakespeare’s comedy, As You Like It, on Thursday 25 February, 7pm. This is the first time in over 30 years the production has come to the National Theatre and sees Rosalind (played by Rosalie Craig), banished in exile with her father, the Duke. Rosalind and her cousin Celia leave their lives in the court behind them and journey into the Forest of Arden and falls spectacularly in love.

The third, Hangmen, will be an Encore transmission on Sunday 6 March, 7pm. Following a sell-out run at London’s Royal Court Theatre, Olivier and Academy Award® winner Martin McDonagh (The Pillowman, The Cripple of Inishmaan, In Bruges) returns to the West End with Matthew Dunster’s award-winning production. Set in a small pub in the northern English town of Oldham, Harry (David Morrissey – The Walking Dead, State of Play) is something of a local celebrity. The play follows the second-best hangman in England and what he does on the day hanging is abolished.

Tickets cost from £14 and can be purchased on The McMillan Theatre website, mcmillantheatre.com, or from the Box Office in person, or by phone, Monday – Friday, 10am – 2pm, 01278 556677.
