Students studying the YMCA Level 2 Fitness Instructing and YMCA Level 3 Personal Training courses at Bridgwater College recently participated in a Crossfit day to discover the opportunities available for progression into the industry.
Throughout the day, the group were able to take part in a number of practical sessions that helped them gain information about career paths in the industry as well as the variety of fitness exercises available. Crossfit is a strength and conditioning programme used by people worldwide, from the police and military to professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The students’ fitness was tested when they had the chance to take part in a Crossfit training session, which gave the students an insight into the diverse range of studio sessions available.
Student, Georgia Viney from Weston-super-Mare said,
“It was an amazing gym and Jordan Howe was a very motivating instructor. I definitely want to go back soon!”
Nyree Davies, Curriculum Manager said,
“All the students worked incredibly hard during each of the practical sessions. The information they gained, I hope will provide them with the aspiration to progress their career further in the future.”
