Bridgwater College’s The Walled Gardens of Cannington has received its 2016 assessment from Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme, VisitEngland, and has once again been classified as 'very good'.
The report looked at all areas of the attraction, from the website, social media, signage, the plant collections and communications, and praised the Gardens’ staff for their horticultural knowledge.
Laura Hetherington, VisitEngland Assessor said,
“The Gardens are beautifully maintained and excellently presented and each section is a delight and a surprise. The Botanical Glasshouses provided extra interest. The Gardens have hidden areas and surprises, plenty of seating, smart interpretation boards and plant labels, and lovely additions such as the water sculpture, the student show gardens and the bug hotel. The Glasshouse is worthy of a visit in itself and the different themed areas are lovely and create interest.”
Simon Grundy, Head of Agriculture, Food and Land Management at Bridgwater College said,
“We are delighted with the comments from the report. It has been a challenging few years with renovation work to Cannington Court impacting on visitors’ experiences, however since this has been completed, visitor comments have been very positive. We strive to provide a high standard of customer service and we are pleased this has been recognised in the report, from the staff in the Tea Room and Gift Shop, to the gardeners who plant over 10,000 bulbs a year!”
