Team BTC Development were up against Kingston Maurwardd on Wednesday 2 November. In a scrappy battle Bridgwater come out 3 – 1 winners.

The game started well with Team BTC having good possession of the ball making it difficult for the away team. Both teams were scrappy in their play throughout the game, both making small mistakes which may have led to goals. Kingston’s defence was good which made the game tempo pick up and also made the home side make decisions a lot faster.

The game got more interesting when Team BTC made changes which made the team more decisive in the attacking end and led to the first goal, scored by Regan Scotcher with help from Harrison Buller. This boosted Team TBCs confidence and there were many more chances created which were just short of finishing due to Kingston’s keeper having a good game.

The second half started a lot better for Team BTC breaking fast from the kick off and aimed to use the attacking wing players to get at the Kingston defence. This hard work paid off as Scott Peters buried the second of the game from a great run into the box. Minutes later Bridgwater got their third goal of the game from Benji Douthwaite-Hodge. A great piece of holding up play which ended positively for him with a right foot canon of a finish.

Bridgwater’s keeper was having a quiet game with the away team not having many chances, however Reece Malcom pulled off a difficult save which was going bottom corner to help save the result for the home team. The game was coming to a close when Kingston put a low ball into the box where Bridgwater’s defence got mixed up and the goal was put away from a scrappy finish. This didn’t get Bridgwater’s head down as they kept the ball till the final whistle. An overall comfortable win for Bridgwater in a scrappy match from the start.
