Team BTC made a good start to the game taking the lead through Josh Evans after just 5 mins from a ball over the top and first onto it to make it 1 – 0.
After having 9 corners in the first half and several good opportunities to extend the lead Team BTC were punished as 10 mins before half time Weston counter attacked extremely quickly to make it 1 – 1.
Just before half time Weston scored their second goal as the striker turned Reece Malcom from 30 yards out and put through ball through to his teammate who scored, to take them into half time 2 – 1 up.
Team BTC changed formation at half time to get back into the game however a mistake by Ollie Hucker 3 minutes into the 2nd half allowed Weston to make it 3 – 1.
Heads went down and Team BTC's usual passing game went out the window and resulted in playing long which didn’t work. Another counter attack from Weston followed and they went 4 – 1 up.
The game was summed up on 70 mins when another mistake at the back from a poor pass into midfield allowed a Weston player to have a first touch and lob Liam Kingston from 30 yards.
A consolation gaol came on 88 mins from good feet from Liam Winter who played the ball across the box for Kofi Martin to score.
Team BTC Head Coach Jamie Laird said,
“The lads have to learn from this heavy defeat and ensure it doesn’t happen again. A lot was learnt about players’ characters today, and will take us into next week’s cup tie away at Merthr Tydfill.”
