Floristry students from Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Yeovil and Cannington Centre’s recently won their categories in the regional heats to qualify for the National finals of the SmithersOasis College Competition.
More than 20 florists from the College entered the heat and competed against six other Colleges nationwide. Out of the eight available places in the grand final, Bridgwater & Taunton College floristry students secured three.
The finalists are Jane Brooke, who is studying the Level 3 Floristry course at the Yeovil Centre, and Laura Anderson and Maureen Nation who are studying the Level 2 and Level 3 courses respectively, at the College’s Cannington Centre.
Jacqui Weaver, Course Leader for Floristry at Bridgwater & Taunton College said,
“I am so proud of the students’ success once again this year, they produced some amazing designs that certainly seem to have impressed the judges. As a further honour we have been asked to host the final at the Cannington Centre in June 2017. The ladies are looking forward to the challenge and meeting the other finalists from all over the UK.”
