Bridgwater & Taunton College prides itself on providing vocational study experiences where students can learn outside of the classroom. This visit to JARE Airline Training Partnership at Bournemouth Airport provided an excellent opportunity for Travel and Tourism students to improve their employability skills and wider skillset in problem solving, communication and team working by taking part in simulated emergency situations and a decompression drill. Students evacuated using the emergency evacuation slide, and also found a ‘baby’ in the smoke-filled cabin experience in a fantastic time of 9 seconds.
Aidan Phillips, who is studying a Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism, said,
“I’ve always had an interest in being a cabin crew member and this experience provided me with an interesting insight into some emergency drills.”
Our students leave their Travel and Tourism course with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to work in this dynamic and vibrant industry. If you are interested in studying a Travel and Tourism course, apply today and unlock your potential – your career will really take off!
