Bridgwater & Taunton College, in partnership with Yeovil Town Ladies Football Club (YTLFC), is further developing its pathway for talented female footballers with some exciting news.

The College and YTLFC have been granted the opportunity to play in the Association of Colleges’ (AoC) Sport Category One League – the highest level of college football in the country. We will be the only college in Somerset competing at this level.

Players studying at any of Bridgwater & Taunton College’s centres will have the opportunity to train over 13 hours per week, both in the College and club environments, whilst also competing in top level elite fixtures. Along with technical and tactical sessions, players will enjoy the added benefit of a strength and conditioning programme, access to a sports therapist and sessions around nutrition, psychology, and match analysis.

A talented player could therefore train within the FA Women's Super League environment, including fixtures in the FA WSL Development League, against teams such as Chelsea and Arsenal, and play in high level college fixtures against the best college teams in the country.

Players who develop their football further will also have opportunities to train with the Yeovil Town Ladies first team squad, as Bridgwater & Taunton College remains the first team’s training facility and educational partner.

Players can participate in the programme alongside studying any of the College’s courses, including A Levels, Vocational, Apprenticeship or Higher Education, although it may be of particular interest to those enrolling onto our new Level 3 Sport Performance course. Training takes place at the Bridgwater Centre but transport can be provided for students studying at any of our other centres.

To find out more about how you can be part of this exciting programme please email Sport@bridgwater.ac.uk or talent@yeoviltownladies.com.

Scholarships are available for individuals and can provide financial support to those with sporting talent towards fees, accommodation, travel costs, or even training equipment and clothing.
