This morning we set off for Jackson, to visit the State Capitol building.
We were given a tour, and were able to see where the senators and governor sit when passing legislation, and also the opportunity to admire the wonderful architecture and decor of the building, which is quite stunning.
After lunch in Jackson, we headed back to the college and watched students perform a half hour excerpt of their play adaptation of To Kill a Mocking Bird. Some of those students then joined us along with other Honours students, to chat and debate about questions chosen at random. With questions about Trump, and Brexit, and the Olympics, it proved to be an interesting afternoon!
For some light entertainment, we then watched an hour of baseball at the college’s ground, with the Hinds Eagles playing, before heading off for a social evening at Gaddis Farm.
The evening at Gaddis Farm consisted of food, food, more food, and dessert after dessert, plus some chatting and fishing thrown in for good measure! A very enjoyable evening.
