This trip gave the year 2 students the chance to take part in team building exercises and to complete specific grading criteria for the practical units of their assessment. This residential further develops the skills that the students learnt in the first year of their Outdoor Education course.

The group took part in a range of activities including gorge walking up black river, abseiling, raft building, kayaking orienteering and high ropes.

Mollie Lock said,

“It was a challenging but extremely fun experience in a beautiful setting. During the week I gained valuable experience and skills that will aid me in my career.”

Tyne Govier, Course Leader, added,

“The second year residential is a step up from the first year looking to build on the knowledge and skills learnt. It was a fun packed 6 days that stretched and challenged the students, showing them what the outdoor industry has to offer.”
