The inaugural cross College Challenge Cup saw 13 teams of eight students from the Taunton and Bridgwater campuses successfully complete a range of physical tests, on both land and water. They tackled numerous time trials involving problem solving, teamwork and communication skills. There was no shortage of action, adventure and mud! The teams selected the individuals to compete in each challenge before the event, choosing who had the skills for the best outcome.
The competition took place on a cloudy damp day in April, however most students managed to dodge the rain showers and stay dry. Challenges included kayaking along the River Tone, mountain biking around Longrun Meadow, climbing the mobile rock wall supplied by the Rifles Outreach Team and completing fitness tests.
All students received a Public Service Challenge Cup T-shirt, and the winning team ‘Bushbys Babies’ received the trophy, along with individual prizes.
