Automotive Engineering Course Leader Josh Smith was interviewed by a journalist for Autosport Magazine and Motorsport News whilst the College team was racing at the Castle Combe circuit on 11 and 12 August. The interview featured in the August issues of both magazines.
Smith is a former champion of, and currently leads the standings in the OSS Championship, probably the fastest championship in the UK. The championship was started in 2009 to encourage any type of Sports Prototype to come and race. The regulations are kept open to not only to attract a wide range of cars but also to reward home grown engineering talent. As such, the Radical PR6 that Josh drives in the competition is run by Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Motorsport students.
Smith said,
“The College team works very hard and our level of preparation is very high. Seven students have been picked up by Strakka Racing for the Spa 24 Hours and two graduates area actually employed by them.”
