Twenty of Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Student Ambassadors spent a morning at Cannington Activity Centre participating in team building exercises to enhance their trust and confidence with each other.
The College’s Student Ambassador Programme is designed to enhance a student’s educational experience, develop effective communication skills, confidence and self-esteem and provide them with an excellent experience for their future career and education opportunities.
The morning started with logic games and trust activities which gave the Ambassadors a chance to think together, solve problems and build on their teamwork skills. They later undertook the Crate Challenge and Jacobs Ladder, where clear and strong communication between the team was required and a lot of support and encouragement was given.
Nia Grewcock, Events Officer at the College said,
The aim of the morning was to give this new group of students the chance to get to know each other and to push them out of their comfort zones. The goal was for them to have achieved something new, meet new people, built new relationships and to have had fun! It was great to see all of the group enjoying themselves and I’m looking forward to working with them throughout the year.
Matthew, second year Student Ambassador said,
It was a really enjoyable morning. The activities were a lot more challenging than anything I’ve done before. It felt great knowing I had support to help me overcome my fear of climbing.
Rachel, first year Student Ambassador said,
The Activity morning was a real thrill and really helped to break the ice with my peers, the majority of whom I had never met before. It helped me make new friendships and feel more comfortable within the group, which I think will strengthen our time as Ambassadors together. I believe that this really helped to bring the group together as a team and can’t wait to do more activities in the future.
