We are delighted to share news of Bridgwater & Taunton College students securing places at top universities this autumn.

Elliot Ridsdale is an International Baccalaureate (IB) student and has been offered a place to study Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge. Elliot is a former pupil of Priory Community School in Weston super Mare.

Former Crispin Academy pupil Olivia Manning, also studying the IB, has been offered a place to study Chemistry at the University of Oxford. She said,

“I have wanted to go to Oxford for a few years now. The interview was stressful but I felt prepared because of the help I have had with mock interviews at College. I’m very excited to be offered a place at Oxford and now need to pass the IB with 40 points to get in!”

Toby Rose, former Robert Blake Science College pupil, currently studies A Levels in Law, Politics and Philosophy. He has been offered a place at Oxford to study Law. He said,

“I was shocked when I got the offer from Oxford and I haven’t got used to the idea yet. I’ll wait until I have my results before getting too excited.”

Former Haygrove School pupil Kate Bancroft studies the IB and has been offered a place and scholarship to study Liberal Arts at Amherst College in Massachusetts in the US. She is looking forward to taking advantage of the breadth of the curriculum at Amherst as well the internships and opportunities to study abroad.

Students on the College’s IB and A Level programmes consistently achieve fantastic results. IB scores are well above the international average, and the most recent overall A Level pass rate is 98.5%, with 100% pass rates achieved in 30 subjects.
