The Agricultural department at Bridgwater & Taunton College has taken delivery of 4 brand new Case IH tractors this week, showing its commitment to investing in and supporting the Agricultural education of students.

The 4 new tractors, supplied by James Pryce Tractors Ltd., will be used to support learners studying Agriculture at Level 1, 2 and 3 study programmes. Learners have already started using the tractors to carry out field work operations and practice their tractor driving skills.

Tom Cunningham, Agriculture, Food and Land Based Studies Curriculum Manager, said:

The College’s continued investment into the facilities and resources at our Cannington Campus, demonstrates our long-term commitment to developing land-based education in the South West. These new tractors will enable further enhancement of the curriculum and will allow students to access the latest technology available in agricultural mechanisation.

The staff and students have already been putting the tractors to work at Rodway Farm, our working farm, which is part of the dedicated and first class facilities at the Cannington Campus.

Shane Plowright, Level 3 Land Based Studies Course Leader, added:

We are very excited that the new tractors have arrived. The students are going to have the opportunity to use both, new and up-to-date tractors and also the latest technology such as GPS systems and auto steer.
