Bridgwater & Taunton College has welcomed apprentices from Bylor and Bam Nuttall who are beginning their three-year Level 3 Digital Engineering Apprenticeship programme which is delivered at the College’s National College for Nuclear (NCfN) in Cannington.

This is the second intake of apprentices, due to the success of the programme, which was started last year in collaboration with Bylor address the need in the industry for qualified specialists.

During this Apprenticeship, apprentices will have full training and development in the use and deployment of 2D and 3D technologies, construction principles and the management of data to support the delivery of the UK’s most significant infrastructure project (Hinkley C). Apprentices attend the College one day per week and work towards gaining the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction & the Built Environment (Civil) and NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Built Environment Design (Civils).

The nuclear industry is expected to need possibly 100,000 new employees over the next decade. NCfN’s high-level nuclear curriculum, range of qualifications and progression routes to jobs, underpin this predicted growth.
