In support of National Tree Week and the Woodland Trust’s Big Climate Fightback, Bridgwater & Taunton College is taking action and planting over three hundred trees.

Three hundred and twenty trees have been generously donated by The Woodland Trust and will be planted across all three of the BTC campuses so that our students, staff and visitors can benefit. The first trees will be planted simultaneously at each campus – at planting ceremonies on the morning of Wednesday 27 November.

National Tree Week comes at an important time for Bridgwater & Taunton College as we celebrate 100 years of Land-based education in Cannington.

Jason Gunningham, Assistant Principal for Land-based, Sport and Foundation Studies at BTC, said:

Our thanks to the Woodland Trust for donating three hundred and twenty trees to the College to mark National Tree Week and to help us celebrate the importance of our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection as a college.

We have a strong history of providing outstanding land-based courses at our fantastic Cannington campus. The campus offers unrivalled opportunities to get hands-on with the worlds of agriculture, animal care and horticulture. Our facilities include an award winning Walled Garden, stunning arboretum, 200-hectare farm, a cutting-edge Agricultural Innovation Centre and beautiful living accommodation.
