Bridgwater and Taunton College are delighted to have been re-accredited as an ECFA College for the 2020 and 21 season.
The aim of the funding is to support BTC to further develop our football provision and, as an accredited college, BTC will have access to a range of services to support the development of football provision, including workforce development opportunities and access to funding opportunities to develop collaborative football projects.
These standards are achieved through a collaborative approach involving a range of football stakeholders including County FAs, affiliated clubs, active partnerships and local charities.
Dan Greenwood (National Football Development Officer) said,
We appreciate BTC’s early commitment to this new model, showing that even during these challenging times, BTC is committed to developing football. We were delighted to accept their application and welcome them to the programme for the new academic year. We are looking forward to appreciate working with the BTC team to further develop football.
Jamie Laird (Team BTC Manager) said,
This re-accreditation is great news for the College to be recognised as a leading College that supports developing football for our students and the local community is a great accolade.
He continued,
We are thrilled to continue our excellent working relationship with ECFA and are proud to be the driving force in the area for both male and female football.
Jason Gunningham, Vice Principal, said,
I am delighted that we have been reaccredited. Student involvement in sporting activity cannot be underestimated. Research has shown that football activity supported by ECFA funding has helped to tackle inactivity, increase attainment, attendance, employability and mental wellbeing, all of which are vital for our students moving forward.” He continued “Our football goes from strength to strength. It is through initiatives such as these that we have been able to produce a world class football offer, it’s no accident that we attract students from all over the world to study with us and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with ECFA.
