Starting with serious intent it wasn’t long before Team BTC/BTFC took the lead. McKenna wriggled past his marker to deliver across the box where Acey Mead struck with a slight deflection past the Wimborne keeper 1-0.

Not letting off the home side pressed high and kept the visitors on the back foot.

Cottrill and Ham got their distances right, not allowing the visitors to settle into the game. Chubb linked with Purser in hustling the opposition defence as Team BTC/BTFC put in an energetic performance.

The defence of Jennings, Kruszynski, Watts, Durant & Allen gave a good solid platform that married with fluent attacks.

The second goal Purser the recipient of another McKenna run – Purser coolly finishing 2-0.

With Ham breaking up play it gave Chubb & Cottrill more freedom as Cottrill linked with Mead to strike well.. the effort was saved but McKenna pounced on the loose ball to finish 3-0.

Ham then turned provider for the next two goals. Picking pockets in midfield he released Purser for the 4th (before Purser came off injured). Then Plant just after replacing Purser 5-0.

In the second period Dennis & Hurford came into the fray, as did Brown and later on Keele replaced Allen, who had another good game.

Wimborne were more resolute in the second period, Team BTC/BTFC had to sharpen up at the back to thwart the visitors efforts. However a professional performance from Team BTC/BTFC brought another goal for Plant, laid on by a timely Mead run. Plant maintained his run to support well and finish 6-0.

Then before the end the goal of the game from McKenna.. gliding around and through three players, McKenna then calmly slid the ball beyond the keeper who couldn’t deny an excellent finish 7-0.

An excellent team display where the energy was superb. Both Ham and McKenna gaining the joint man of the match award with contributions towards goals & timely interceptions.
