Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, students and staff across the three campuses and from home, once again had fun raising hundreds for charity during December for Raise & Give (RAG) Month – known as RAGVENT.
RAGVENT raised an incredible £2,920.05, taking the College’s charity donation tally to over £50,000 to date. The three charities chosen for RAGVENT this year, as voted for by the BTC community, were In Charley’s Memory, Children’s Hospice South West and Secret World Wildlife Rescue.
From ice bucket challenges, to head shaves, to handmade goodies sold by students, the COVID secure fundraising activities the College’s staff and students organised were brilliant.
Student Engagement Enrichment Officer, Lily Quarton-Parsons said:
We are so proud of all students and staff who got involved. We managed to raise a grand total of £2920.05 for our three local charities! The charities we supported this year were voted for by staff and students, and the winning results were Secret World Wildlife Rescue, Children’s Hospice South West and In Charley’s Memory.
A few personal highlights include: The food bank collection, Light Vehicle student’s winter checks, student leg wax, ice bucket challenge, the Wellbeing raffle made by Aimee Gill, various cards, bracelets and cakes made by our student body (covid secure), hair dying (red for Christmas) and our wonderful Student Union reps at Taunton recording a RAGVENT TikTok with the IB students.
Congratulations everyone!
