The College and The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) are excited to launch the ECITB Scholarship Programme which aims to support aspiring engineers wishing to pursue a career within the mechanical maintenance and welding and fabrication industries.
The ECITB Scholarship Programme is for students studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering at the College’s Bridgwater campus. This course is taught in state-of-the-art workshops, including our new Welding Centre of Excellence.
During their studies, students will receive an allowance of £140 per week during term time plus nationally recognised engineering qualifications and skills training relevant to their chosen discipline, allowing them to fast-track into skilled employment or an Apprenticeship.
The Scholarship includes skills and knowledge training for up to five days a week over one or two academic years, the ECITB Digital Passport, ECITB foundation and work-based online knowledge test, a Health & Safety Passport (CCNSG) and interaction with employers.
Chris Hunt, Head of Automotive & Engineering said,
We’re very proud to partner with such a prestigious organisation and offer this generous scholarship to enrich our students’ learning.
BTC’s excellent reputation for engineering is in part due to our focus on ensuring we train the future workforce to meet the challenges facing the industry, so students graduate with the behaviours and skills needed to succeed.
