Students have been celebrating their results, marking yet another year of excellent academic and personal achievement, with an overall A Level pass rate of 99%.

Andy Berry, College Principal & CEO said,

I’m so proud of our students and staff who have excelled once again this year. With the support of their tutors, students adjusted well to blended learning, and their hard work and determination has been reflected in their results.

He continued,

Whilst we couldn’t be together to celebrate, I was thrilled to hear about their exciting plans to pursue their passions at top universities such as Oxford, King’s College London and Exeter University.

One A Level student who did particularly well was Jonathan Brown, formerly from Haygrove School who achieved excellent results with two A*s and an A, and has been accepted by Lincoln College, University of Oxford, to study English Language and Literature.

Jonathan commented,

My experience at BTC was brilliant and I couldn’t have asked for better lecturers. I received all the support and encouragement I needed even during such uncertain times, and have achieved exactly what I wanted!

William Stokes, from Chilton Trinity School, also achieved excellent results with three A*s and is off to the University of Exeter to study BMBS Medicine.

He reflected on his time at BTC,

Following a very challenging couple of years at College due to the pandemic and completing the majority of my studies online, I can honestly say that I’m elated to have achieved the A Level grades that I have received.

Other highflyers include Kristi Greenwood who achieved three A*s and will be taking a gap year before continuing her studies at Durham University.

She said,

I’m so happy with my results and grateful to all the amazing staff who supported me.” Kristi wanted to say a special thanks to her tutors Irena and Bex, adding “I couldn’t have done it without them, so thank you so much!

Head of A Levels, Vanessa Hughes said,

Our staff and students worked extremely hard to ensure that learning continued throughout the lockdown and students were not disadvantaged by Covid-19. I’m delighted that most will be able to progress onto their chosen pathway and am so proud of them. I wish them all the best.

Other students with outstanding results include Georgina Husband who has secured a place at Edinburgh University after achieving two A*s for Chemistry and Maths and an A in French, and Daniel Gunning who is off to study Chemistry at King’s College London after gaining three A*s. Others to achieve three A*s include Emma Page who plans on studying at the University of Exeter and Jack Collard who has a place at the University of Birmingham.
