Students and staff across Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) have been raising money for BBC’s Children in Need.
Students completing Learning for Life and Work courses sold a selection of hot bacon, sausage and vegan rolls at Bridgwater campus, showing off their culinary skills and raising over £100 for the charity.
The BTC Lifestyle team, which runs a wide range of popular extracurricular activities and sports for students of all abilities, held a raffle at each BTC campus. Prizes were kindly donated by staff and local businesses, including a voucher for high tea from the Levels Country Kitchen and beauty products and hair styling vouchers from BTC’s Hair & Beauty Zone salons, which are open to the public.
Finally, there were smiles all round when Pudsey himself made a VIP visit to the youngsters at the Childcare Centre.
Donations are still coming in, but so far the staff and students across the College have raised nearly £400. If you’d like to make a contribution, please visit the Childcare Centre’s JustGiving page.
Children in Need is one of many charity and awareness days highlighted by students and staff at BTC. Voting is currently under way to decide the nominated charities supported by BTC’s RAG week in early December. For more information about the vibrant student life at BTC, visit the Student Life page.
