Team BTC Men’s 1 football team have marched on in to the last 16 of the Association of Colleges (AoC) Men’s Premier Cup with an emphatic 5-2 win over Exeter College.
The Men’s 1 produced an excellent display of football away from home against Exeter College. Up against tough opponents, who had beaten them 5-1 earlier in the season and sit 2nd place in the table with only one defeat. BTC got off to a flying start as Acey Mead opened the scoring after a brilliant piece of skill and an even better pass from Olly Chubb. Brad Pfupa then got on the end of a Harry Durant through-ball volleyed home into the bottom corner. Team BTC were 2-0 up within the opening 5 minutes. Acey then got his second of the game and BTC’s third with another well worked goal. Exeter were not done yet though and they replied instantly which temporarily shifted momentum. However, on the stroke of half time, Acey completed his hat-trick to make the score 4-1 at the break with Team BTC firmly in the driving seat and good value for their lead.
In the second half, the team maintained their intensity and work rate as Lewis Neenan got on the end of a superb cross from Acey Mead and finished beautifully to score BTC’s fifth goal and put the game out of sight, with the final score ending Team BTC 5-2 Exeter College. The Men’s 1 football team now progress through to the last 16 of the AoC Men’s Premier Cup.
