The Team BTC Netballers put in an amazing effort recently during a home game against South Gloucester and Stroud College (SGS).
The players worked hard throughout to keep putting pressure on the opposition, with Alicia Clapp and Rylie Stacey making good interceptions in defence. Once the ball got turned over in the circle, the whole team were in a great rhythm, bringing the ball down court with the help of the centre court players Hollie Davies, Fiona Willmont and Grace Rennie. At half time and after great efforts from everyone, Team BTC were in the lead 27-24.
After half time, SGS were playing with a strong defence, so shooters Rhi Crabtree and Ellie Hooper had to work hard to get the ball into the circle. Once they did, shots were going in. Assistance from Alex Davey and Lucy Webb making interceptions and Tori Soqoiwasa stepping in also helped keep the ball flowing down court. The whole team pushed right until the final whistle, but sadly the score did not reflect their efforts. The game ended 38-32 to SGS. Not the result we wanted but it was a great effort from all the players.
