Employers and potential apprentices have been seizing opportunities thanks to the Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) Apprenticeship Jobs Fair.

Record numbers of students visited the McMillan Theatre to meet a wide range of employers with vacancies to fill. Local, national and international businesses and organisations were represented, including BTC partners such as EDF, Charlie Bigham’s, Magnox, Somerset Larder, Refresco and Numatic International.

The potential apprentices were able to speak to employers, find out about their industries and the training and career opportunities within them. BTC staff were also on hand to advise about the 150 Apprenticeship courses provided by the College, ranging from Accountancy to Computing, Automotive to Social Care, Business Administration to Equine.

Head of Business Growth and Customer Insights Lucy Hawkins said:

This was a fantastic event and we’re grateful to our employer partners for making it such a huge success. Working with them, we’ve been able to raise the profile of Apprenticeship opportunities in Somerset and beyond.

BTC offers a huge variety of Apprenticeship courses, but many people forget that current training goes far beyond traditional sectors such as Construction, Engineering, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Apprentices work in cutting edge industries including Computing & Digital, Social Media and Clean Energy, and students can take courses up to degree level, so there are plenty of opportunities if work-based learning is the right choice for you.

Apprenticeship courses are available all year round. For more information and to explore current vacancies, visit https://www.btc.ac.uk/find-a-course/apprenticeships/.
