BTC Students Excel in Maths and Education Initiative Regional Final | Bridgwater & Taunton College

Bridgwater & Taunton College proudly announces the success of its Maths and Education Initiative Regional Final. The competition featured students from a variety of courses, including Health and Social Care, Automotive, Creative Arts, and Hair and Beauty, who study maths as a requirement to meet national education standards. The Maths and Education Initiative program aims to improve students’ comprehension and appreciation of mathematics by presenting practical applications of math, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Possessing a strong foundation in maths is essential for success in many areas of life.

The competition, which brought together students from participating schools in Somerset and Wiltshire, resulted in Bridgwater & Taunton College students taking first place in two categories and second place in another.

Jayne Woodland, Curriculum Manager for English and maths, said,

I am thrilled to see the level of enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated by the students in this year’s final. maths skills are essential in everyday life, they provide a strong foundation to support an individual’s knowledge and develop their employability skills. We are so proud of the heard work and effort they put into this competition.
