Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) has been highlighted by the Association of Colleges (AoC) and the English College Football Association (ECFA) after receiving an overall rating of 2 out of 3 stars for its football provision.
BTC’s remarkable sports curriculum have been aspiring to achieve a coveted 3 stars from the AoC / ECFA, reaching 2 stars after incredible efforts from staff in the past year.
With only a few more tasks remaining to reach 3 stars, the team will continue to work tirelessly to complete the full development framework and offer the best football provision in the county – being the only college in the region to receive 2 stars or above as of publication.
This comes alongside a fantastic year across BTC’s sports team, including athletes of Women’s Football and Table Tennis being crowned victors at National championships.
AoC Sport is the leading organisation for sport and physical activity in 16+ education, with a firm belief that both are essential components of college life. The ECFA is the football delivery arm of AoC Sport.
For achieving 2 stars, the college will be awarded an ECFA plaque, accredited logo, priority access to programmes and initiatives and other benefits.
Jamie Laird, Team BTC Manager, said,
We are delighted to be awarded 2 stars overall by the AoC for the ECFA Development Framework. We are extremely proud to be the only college in Somerset to be awarded this and for our football programme to be recognised alongside some of the elite colleges in the country.
