Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) has been recognised by Microsoft as a Showcase College, an elite group of colleges that exemplify the best of teaching and learning in the world today.
Only a few institutions earn this designation, recognising BTC’s digital innovation and impact on the future of education both in the South West, the UK, and beyond.
Institutions that earn this accolade are celebrated for their dedication to educational transformation that includes vision and innovation in teaching, learning, and preparing students for a digital future.
Key voices in this programme work tirelessly to ensure a plethora of future-forward criteria are fulfilled across BTC’s digital presence and software offerings. The expertise of Gregory Court-Smith, Steve Kemmery, Chris Ridgwell, Ian Chard, Rhys Hatherall, Peter Knox, Tom Cudbill and many other members of staff and students helped make this possible.
Work will continue in the coming months to ensure this recognition continues, with further action plans and transformation guides in place to help BTC excel in the digital sphere and continue to innovate in the educational space.

Following from our Incubator stage in 21/22, we are delighted to have graduated to Showcase status in 22/23 and to be recognised once more in 23/24 for our transformational journey and innovation. This is a whole college effort made possible by our fantastic team of teaching and support staff. We look forward to engaging with the showcase activities and to having continued impact within our regional and wider communities in the coming year.
