Keeley Banfield, a Sports Science and Coaching student, has started her full-time, professional footballing career after signing with Aberdeen FC in the Scottish Women’s Premier League!

Keeley joined BTC in 2020 through the College’s partnership with Bridgwater United (previously Yeovil Women) Academy. She studied Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science alongside representing BTC as part of the Women’s Football programme. During this time, Keeley signed for Bridgwater United’s first team and captained the College team to becoming back-to-back Association of Colleges (AoC) Cat 1 Champions, AoC National Champions, ECFA Premier Cup Semi-Finalists and Somerset Schools Cup winners.

After completing the Level 3 course, Keeley started her BSc (Hons) in Sports Science with Sports Coaching Education at University Centre Somerset, alongside captaining the Women’s Football team and Bridgwater United’s first team in the Women’s National League.

Keeley is a very talented footballer and has worked hard over the last four years to progress with both her studies and her football, striking a balance that has enabled her to achieve brilliant things in both. She will now complete her degree remotely whilst living and playing in Scotland. Best of luck at Aberdeen FC Keeley!

If you are in year 10 or 11 and are interested in following in Keeley’s footsteps and representing BTC as part of our Women’s Football programme, sign up to our next Women’s Football Development Day during February half-term here.
