CreaTech
CreaTech combines creative skills and emerging technologies. Supporting digital innovation in the creative and cultural industries is now a UK Government priority, and we are delighted to launch our brand-new initiative to provide an innovative, creative space on campus.
Here, the fusion of creative and digital skills can flourish, benefitting both students and businesses alike.
For Education
We will engage with creative employers to gain insight into the digital skills gap and explore how educational programmes can align more closely with industry demands. This direct engagement offers students invaluable exposure to real-world digital creative practices, ensuring a smoother transition from education to professional industries.
By doing this, we foster collaboration between creative employers and the College by inviting industry professionals to share their expertise through a mix of live projects, mentorship programmes, work experience, and workshops. This exchange of knowledge benefits students and lecturers alike, enriching the educational experience with practical, industry-relevant insights.
For Businesses
We want to extend an invitation to businesses to leverage the state-of-the-art equipment and resources available within the College premises to support their growth initiatives. By providing access to these resources, the project aims to nurture a mutually beneficial relationship between education and industry.
We will also facilitate the integration of freelancers and creative businesses within the campus environment, enabling them to utilise our space and kit in exchange for supporting student learning. This symbiotic arrangement fosters a dynamic ecosystem where professionals and students collaborate to a mutual advantage.
In an era of rapid digital evolution, it is imperative that education and industry collaborate closely to bridge the skills gap and unlock growth opportunities for the now and for the future.
