Walled Gardens supports Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance | Bridgwater & Taunton College

BTC was delighted to support a local charity across two days last week at The Walled Gardens of Cannington.

The Walled Gardens donated all entrance fees from two special open days to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Charity, in memory of Somerset man, Graham Watts.

Emma Butler, Graham’s daughter and Horticulture Course Leader at BTC said,

“Dad was a great storyteller, and under the pseudonym ‘A Passer By’ he wrote and submitted short stories about growing up on a Somerset dairy farm to his monthly local village magazine.

At Dad’s request, we have compiled his stories, with illustrations by his granddaughter Molly, into a book and are donating proceeds from the sales of the book to the Air Ambulance charity.”

To date, the book sales, Walled Gardens open days and a fundraising evening that Graham’s family held over the summer, have raised over £4,000. The family presented a cheque to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance at the Walled Gardens on Sunday 29 September.

The book, ‘Somerset Tales of a Passer By’, is still available to purchase at Browne’s Garden Centre outside of Wells, the Bird in Westhay, and the shop in the Walled Gardens of Cannington.
