Ever thought about becoming a teacher but unsure about whether this could be the right career for you? Join us at our Bridgwater campus this March for our half-day “Get into Teaching Experiences”.

Overview

Experience an afternoon at our Bridgwater campus and complete a series of activities designed to give some insights into what it is like teaching in Further Education (FE). Meet the PGCE/Cert Ed Programme Leader, speak to past and current Trainee Teachers, observe a lesson in action, hear experiences from our BTC Teaching and Learning Coaches, and get stuck into a practical teaching and learning activity. A fantastic opportunity to get a real, hands on experience of what a career in FE Teaching could be like for you!

Bursaries for FE teacher training have now been announced for the 2025/26 academic year – more information about these will be available on the day.

These include:
• Mathematics £31,000
• Science (including chemistry, physics and biology) £31,000
• Engineering (and/or manufacturing) £31,000
• Computing £31,000
• SEND £15,000
• English (capped at 100 places) £10,000

2:30pm – Chat to a TLC

3:00pm – TLA Activity

3:30pm – Talk to current trainees

4:00pm – Q&A with course lead & discuss application process

4:30pm – End of the experience.
