Established in the 1920s, the West Country Dairy Awards provide grants to people studying courses related to the dairy industry. The awards distribute over £15,000 every year, offering scholarship funds to BTC students of all ages who are undertaking Further Education courses.
Sons and daughters of farmers or farm employees, or students who can demonstrate commitment to the dairy industry and show aptitude to ‘add value’ to the industry shall be considered.
The fund is sponsored by Arla Foods, AC Mole, Azets, Barber’s, Bath & West of England Society, Cogent UK, Cooper and Tanner, Cornish Mutual, Crediton Dairy, Dairy Crest Direct, Devon County Agricultural Association, Harpers Feeds, Glastonbury Festival, Lye Cross Farm, Micron Bio-Systems, Mole Valley Farmers, Mount Vets, NFU, Old Mill, Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, Saputo Dairy UK, Shepton Vets, Synergy Farm Health, Trewithen Dairy and Wyke Farms.
Applications are now being accepted and need to be received by 31 July 2021.
