Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) proudly marks another year of exceptional academic and personal accomplishments with students celebrating fantastic results.
This year’s results underscore the unwavering dedication of both our students and the teaching teams, these were the first set of public exams for these students, as they completed their GCSEs during Covid
remarked Andy Berry, College Principal & Chief Executive.
Seeing how hard they’ve worked and then seeing them reap the rewards of their labour is hugely rewarding. We are waving goodbye to them as they set out on the next leg of their journey to wonderful institutions such as Oxford, UCL, Cardiff, and Exeter.
Highlighting the A Level results this year, Liz Nuttall, Head of A Levels, said,
It’s been a wonderful day, celebrating the culmination of two years of hard work with students, their families, and our wonderful staff team. Our students have worked hard and bucked the national trend, the vast majority of results are better than the pre-pandemic A Level results which is a real testament to their hard work and dedication. 21 subjects had a 100% pass rate with 20 subjects outperforming pre-pandemic levels in A* to C grades. I wish them all well in their next endeavours and can’t wait to hear all about it.
Meanwhile, T Level students achieved equally impressive results with T Level Health and the Education and Childcare students passing with flying colours with 100% achieving Distinction and Merit in Education and Childcare, 90% achieving Distinction and Merit in Healthcare and 78% achieving Distinction and Merit in the Digital T Level.
Louise Rowley, Deputy Principal, continued,
I am enormously proud of the results our students have achieved. They have worked so hard and thoroughly deserve them. The T Levels have opened up wonderful opportunities, students are either taking up roles within their chosen sector or continuing their studies at degree level.
Among those celebrating their results were Ruth, who has been accepted to Oxford to study Psychology with Linguistics, Jess who will be taking up a Golf scholarship at the University of Indianapolis whilst studying Sports Management and Dovydas, who’s off to study Aeronautics and Astronautics in Southampton.
Evelyn, will be working as a Teaching Assistant at a local primary school and Millie who will embark on a Higher Degree Apprenticeship at Musgrove Park hospital.
Other students receiving results today also garnered excellent results across the board, over 30 subjects achieved 100% pass rate: including- Nuclear Engineering, Sports and Exercise Science, Art and Design, Health & Social Care, Early Years, Computing, Business, Performing and Production Arts.
Sam Reilly, Assistant Principal said,
The destinations of our students is amazing, having completed their studies they have been offered some fantastic opportunities, many are following traditional routes such as medicine, pharmacy and economics, whilst others have secured degree apprenticeships such as Nuclear Engineering, Digital Marketing and engineering for prestigious organisations. I would like to extend my congratulations to them all!
