What does the course involve?

· This course is based on EMTA NVQ 2 (Electrical Engineering Maintenance)

· Typical performance objectives include wiring and moving machines, maintaining circuit protective devices, repairing starters, testing motors, lighting circuits etc.

· The second phase of this course comprises a number of NVQ assignments carried out in the work place. Both the College and company to reflect the required skills and provide the required NVQ evidence choose the assignments.

Assessment Methods

A College assessor will visit the workplace to help record evidence of assignments and when complete sign off the NVQ. There are also short progress tests during the day release period of the course.
