Course Overview
Are you looking to redesign your garden or interested in the concepts of garden design?This short course will allow you to evaluate your site and guideyou to develop adesign, based on the design brief.Real life opportunities will allow you to design a garden build to be judged at the royal bath & west show 2024.
The course runs one day per week for 7 weeks plus 2 show build days.
Units of study/what is involved:
- Site evaluation and analysis
- Soft landscaping- plant characteristics and requirements
- Hard landscaping features
- Looking at design briefs and how to meet objectives
- Health and Safety considerations and working to bring the plan to life
- Sourcing materials
- Show garden build
Additional costs:
PPE– safety boots for show build- learners to provide

Feedback and design opportunities with a show build, reflective practice and feedback.

Further courses to help build your plant knowledge include a range of courses including RHS Level 2 Practical delivered at our Cannington site.

Once I complete my course, my dream is to work for The National Trust or travel and find employment in gardens abroad. The course has helped me see all the opportunities available to me, so I feel confident my future looks bright.
