Facilities
We provide dedicated facilities for construction at both Bridgwater & Taunton Campuses, with workshops that are well-equipped and provide expert tuition from our staff team. Whether you’re training an existing employee or recruiting a new apprentice to be a plumber, electrician, plasterer, painter and decorator, builder or carpenter, our construction skills facilities are the perfect place to learn.
Training and up-skilling constructors and civil engineers, our Construction Skills and Innovation Centre at Cannington campus replicates a real-life construction site, with industry-standard plant, machinery and equipment. Construction site behaviours and standards are also learned alongside specific technical knowledge and skills. For many, the training at this centre is life-changing, and exciting, providing the skills needed for a successful career in the civil engineering and construction industry.
The Construction Skills and Innovation Centre provides critical skills training and Apprenticeships for construction and nuclear new build, specialising in excavation, groundworks, concrete pouring, steel fixing, formwork, water utilities, lifting, operating, and a large number of CPCS disciplines.
Many of our construction related programmes start in September. Get ahead now and talk to us about your specific training needs. We have construction related apprenticeship programmes situated at all three of our campuses and over 25 suitable programmes related to the sector.

We also have many Apprenticeships applicable across all businesses here.
We also have free Distance Learning courses suitable for all sectors here.
Industry Placements:
Placements provide employers with additional support from a learner studying an industry relevant course. They will involve a 45-60 day placement in a relevant role with a host employer.
For the launch of the T Levels we are looking for dynamic and pioneering employers to partner with us for each of the courses we run, with the commitment predominately being based on your business offering Industry Placements for BTC students. One of the first T Level qualifications that will require a business to host an Industry Placement for a student is the Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning T Level.
