We are delighted to announce that the nominations for the prestigious BTC Apprenticeship and Placement Awards 2025 are now open!
The awards recognise the exceptional contributions of students and employers in shaping the skills and knowledge of the upcoming generation of professionals.
To participate, simply complete the form below and submit your nominations for an outstanding apprentice, T Level student, work experience student, supported employment student or a remarkable Employer.

Student Nominations
To be eligible for an award, a student must either be currently undertaking an Intermediate, Advanced or Higher level Apprenticeship, T Level Industry Placement, Work Experience Placement, Supported Internship or Supported Traineeship or have completed within the academic year 2024/2025.
Categories for the individual:
- Intermediate Apprentice of the Year (those who are currently undertaking or have completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship)
- Advanced Apprentice of the Year (those who are currently undertaking or have completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship)
- Higher/Degree Apprentice of the Year (those who are currently undertaking or have completed a Level 4 or above Apprenticeship)
- Work Experience Student of the Year (awarded to an individual who is currently undertaking or has recently completed a Work Experience Placement and has embraced this opportunity)
- T Level Placement Student of the Year (awarded to an individual who is currently undertaking or has recently completed a T Level Industry Placement and has embraced this opportunity)
- Supported Employment Student of the Year (awarded to an individual who is currently undertaking a supported employment programme such as a Supported Internship or Supported Traineeship).
Employer Nominations
The awards will celebrate contributions made by employers and the placements they offer.
Employer Categories:
- Small Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award (1-49 employees and apprentices with BTC)
- Medium Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award (50-249 employees and apprentices with BTC)
- Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award (250+ employees and apprentices with BTC)
- T Level Employer of the Year Award (Awarded to a business that has proactively supported T Level students by providing placement opportunities to BTC students)
- Work Experience Employer of the Year Award (Awarded to a business that has proactively supported Work Experience by providing placement opportunities to BTC students)
- Supported Employment Employer of the Year Award (Awarded to a business that has proactively supported young people with SEND or SEMH needs to partake in a work placement as part of their college course, and collaborating with reasonable adjustments for student(s) that have taken part in theses opportunities).
How to enter
Student Awards: Applications can be completed by either the individual, the Employer, or Bridgwater & Taunton College on their behalf. You should aim to answer questions factually and support any statements with evidence that showcases the contributions made.
Employer Awards: Applications can be completed by either the Employer or a Bridgwater & Taunton College representative who is nominating on behalf of the Employer. You should aim to answer questions factually and support any statements with supporting evidence to showcase the contributions made.
Tips from the Judges
Student Categories:
- Judges will be looking to examine the commitment, personal development and progression of the individual and will award those who demonstrate outstanding contributions to the workplace and examples of personal achievement and attainment.
- Judges also want to see evidence. You should provide information about the nominee’s achievements, dedication, contribution and impact within their role. Please detail achievements, evidence and facts where possible to support your statements such as a quotes from managers, customers and relative statistics.
Employer Categories:
- Judges will be looking for an Employer who can showcase their dedication, influence and that can demonstrate the success that apprenticeships and work placements have brought to their organisation.
- Judges also want to see evidence. Please detail achievements, impact within the sector, business and communities where appropriate. You should include evidence and facts where possible to support your statements such as quotes from employees and relative statistics.
- PLEASE NOTE: Sector-specific jargon and acronyms are hard to decipher. Please explain points in full.
