The College can truly claim to be at the leading edge of vocational nuclear industry training.
It is the South West hub for The National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) leading the regional network of NSAN approved training providers and our Cannington campus is the home of the Magnox South Decommissioning Centre.
We gained a national Beacon Award for our work with employers in this sector and have several high quality practical courses at all levels.
This industry is entering an exciting phase of investment where opportunities for engineering professionals are flourishing. With 436 nuclear power reactors in 31 countries and another 70 under construction, it’s an industry that continues to grow.
Nuclear programmes are delivered at the recently completed National College for Nuclear, Southern Hub, in Cannington.
Paul Goss, Head of the National College for Nuclear (Southern Hub) said,
“The National College for Nuclear will provide young people with a fantastic opportunity right on their doorsteps. School leaver full-time programmes in engineering and science or Apprenticeships will provide unique progression pathways into the sector and university degrees, setting them up for an exciting and successful career.”
