“Our Admin Apprentice has been with us just over a year and works in the office. She started studying Health & Social Care at Bridgwater & Taunton College before changing onto a Business Administration Apprenticeship course, so her background in care makes her ideal. The symbiotic relationship created by an apprenticeship is perfect – it meets our business needs while ticking all the learning outcomes for the Apprentice.

We were looking for someone we could train to join our team in a part-time position. We needed admin support, occasional reception cover and other care office duties. We contacted the College and after a meeting to discuss our requirements, they sent several CVs. We interviewed the shortlisted candidates and offered her the job. She’s been amazing right from the start. She quickly grasped the business needs and our relationship with our customers. Her attendance record is outstanding and she’s able to tackle new tasks with confidence. I’ve been amazed and delighted at how proactive she is, particularly in one so young. Most Care Co-ordinators worked their way up the ranks over several years to achieve her level of competence.

When she qualified we offered her a full-time position and promotion, and we’re looking for another apprentice.”
