Throughout the A Level study programme, we have many opportunities for students to attend guest speakers, visits and residentials, these are just a few.
A Level Politics students had the opportunity to meet Baroness Jolly. She spoke to our students about her work as a Liberal Democrat peer in the House of Lords.
A Level Politics students had the opportunity to skype John Bercow, speaker for the House of Commons. The students quizzed him on his opinions on Brexit and how he manages to remember the names and constituencies of 650 MPs.
Year 1 and Year 2 students across the A Level programme were chosen on several occasions to debate the validity and implications of Brexit. Interviews were also featured on local and national news.
Year 1 and Year 2 students across the A Level programme welcomed the Mayor of Bridgwater – Cllr Diogo Rodrigues, where he took part in a lively debate on current affairs from carnival to the pros and cons of social media.
A Level Politics & Law students had the opportunity to video call with Lord McFall, Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords. Lord McFall tackled a variety
of topics including Brexit, Donald Trump and the Extinction Rebellion.
All A Level students had the opportunity to meet Holocaust survivor, John Dobai. He shared his story with staff and students.
Year 1 & Year 2 Sociology students visited HMP Bristol.
Students visited Cannington Quarry as part of their Geology field investigation work.
Politics students visited London, Westminster to visit Parliament.
Students visited Middle Hope beach as part of their Geography field investigation work.
Students visited the Etches Museum, as part of their Geology study programme.
Fashion & Textiles students visited London, to visit exhibitions and museum to gather research.
Students visited Kilve beach as part of their Geology field investigation work.
Students visited Cheddar Gorge as part of their Geology field investigation work.
Year 1 & Year 2 French and History students had the opportunity to visit Paris.
Year 1 & Year 2 Spanish and Law students had the opportunity to visit Barcelona.
Year 1 & Year 2 Geology and Geography students had the opportunity to visit Iceland.
All Year 1 & Year 2 Creative Art A Level students, had the opportunity to visit New York City.
Year 1 & Year 2 French, Spanish and History students had the opportunity to visit Brussels.
Year 1 & Year 2 Geography, Geology and Biology students had the opportunity to visit Italy, visiting Sorrento and Rome.
Year 1 & Year 2 Sociology students have the opportunity to visit either Prague or Poland.
